මෑත ඉතිහාසයේ කිසි දිනෙක අත්පත් කර ගැනීමට නොහැකි ආර්ථික වර්ධන වේගයක් ඉදිරියටත් පවත්වා ගෙන යාමට අවශ්ය ශක්තිය මෙම අයවැය යෝජනා තුළින් ලබා දී ඇත. කෘෂිකර්ම, වැවිලි කර්මාන්ත, අපනයන කර්මාන්ත, දේශීය සුළු හා මධ්ය පරිමාණ ව්යාපාර සඳහා ආයෝජන අවස්ථා ඇති කරමින් ආර්ථිකය පුළුල් වීමටත්, ආයෝජකයන්ට වැඩි ඉඩකඩ ලබා දෙමින් සෘජු හා වක්ර ලෙස රැුකියා උත්පාදන මාර්ග ඇති කරමින් නිෂ්පාදනය වැඩි කිරීමට අවශ්ය කරන උපාය මාර්ග මෙම අයවැය තුළ අන්තර්ගත වී තිබේ. විශේෂයෙන් නිෂ්පාදකයන්ට බදු සහන සහ මූල්ය පහසුකම් සලසා දීමත්, රාජ්ය සංස්ථා සේවකයින්ට වැටුප් වැඩි වීම් ලබා දෙමින් විශ්රාමිකයන්ගේ වැටුප් විෂමතාවයන් දුරලමින් ද, වැඩිහිටි සුභසාධනය සලසමින් ද, අඩු ආදායම්ලාභීන්ගේ ජීවන තත්ත්වය වැඩි කිරීම සඳහා සහන වැඩි කරමින් ද, රණවිරු මව්පියන්ට හා ආබාධිත රණවිරුවන්ට සහන සලසමින් ද, ළමා හා කාන්තා සුභ සාධනය ඇති කරමින් ද, අති දුෂ්කර ගම්මාන හා ආගමික ස්ථාන සංවර්ධනය කරමින්ද, ධීවර හා පශු සම්පත් සංවර්ධනය සඳහා යෝජනා ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් ද, සෞඛ්ය හා ද්විතියික හා උසස් අධ්යාපනික ක්ෂේත්රවල මෙතෙක් පැවති අඩුපාඩු සපුරමින්ද, නාගරික හා අර්ධ නාගරික ප්රදේශ සංවර්ධනය කරමින්, ප්රධාන පොදු ජන අවශ්යතාව වන පානීය ජලය ලබා දීමේ දීපව්යාප්ත වැඩ පිළිවෙල තව දුරටත් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යාම, අවශ්ය ආයෝජන දිරි ගැන්වීම් කිරීම මෙම අයවැය තුළින් විද්යමාන වේ.

A progress review meeting on the water supply project at Badulla and Monaragala district in the Uva Province was held in Parliament recently and the implementation of the peoject has been accelerated. The project is implemented at Rs. 853 Million. The Ambagasdowa Water Supply Scheme being constructed at Rs. 133 Million and is based on Bomuru Ella will provide water for 15,000 people while the Mahiya Water Supply Scheme being constructed at Rs. 189 Million and is based on Uma Oya will provide water for 32,000 people. Those sub projects implemented under the main Water Supply Project are in the Badulla District. Monaragala Water Supply Scheme being executed at a cost of Rs. 154.8 Million and is based on Monaragala Oya will provide water for 12,600 people while Badalkumbura Water Supply Scheme now in progress at a cost of Rs.124.4 Million at Borehole water resource will provide water for 22,000 people. The Wellawaya Water Supply Scheme now in progress at a cost of Rs. 250 Million and is based on Alikote Ella and Kirindioya will provide water for 7,000 people. These schemes are in the Monaragala district. The other Water Supply Schemes to be implemented under the same project are Buttala, Kiriibbanwewa, Aluthwela, Mutukandiya, Habbegamuwa, Haliela, Mahiyanganaya, Bandarawela, Haputale, Diyatalawa, Atampitiya, Kandaketiya and Taldena. Several Cabinet Ministers and MPs who represent the two Districts took part in the meeting. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Hon. Sumedha Jayasena, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Hon. Jagath Pushpakumara, Memebers of Parliament Uditha Lokubandara, Rohana Pushpakumara, Tenkuka Widanagamage, Chamika Buddhika and Wijitha Berugoda were present at this occasion.
